Beet Seeds Detroit Dark Red
I love beets and the greens. In this case the red. This a great tasting beet and you can eat the leaves. I find the leaves seem to be more disease resistant too compared the Detroit variety. I grow both and the leaves of the Bull's Blood seem to manage better.
1 tablespoon of seeds as seen in the picture. Thats a lot of seeds.
It matures in about 45 days. Harvest beets when they are about 3 inches. But let some go and harvest the leaves over a whole season. I plant my beets 3-4 inches apart. Each beet seed is actually a pod so thin to 1 plant per space.
For planting instructions I direct everyone to the Farmer's Almanac. They are clear and concise and cover all care needs. You can find a link under the Blog & Video tab.
