Endive Seeds Broadleaf Batavian (Heirloom)

  • $1.00

An heirloom introduced in the early 1860's. Endive is a member of the chicory family that originated in the Mediterranean region. Its a delicious long season green that is sweet in the cool weather and slight bitter in the warmer weather. The leaves hold dressings well and have buttery texture to them. An easy to grow must have for a greens garden. 80 days to maturity. Plant 6-8 inches apart. I use it just like lettuce and prefer for its ability to hold dressing and not wither.

A teaspoon of Broadleaf Batavian Endive Seeds. That is the easiest way for me to measure.

For planting instructions I direct everyone to the Farmer's Almanac. They are clear and concise and cover all care needs. You can find a link under the Blog & Video tab.
